The Ribadesella-Playa hotel is a small palace built on a property of 900 m2, whose date of built was between 1905-1910.
It was property of the Marchioness of Argüelles, and from his inauguration on it was rented to tourists and friends.
Among the renters who occupied it, appeared Pepe Pidal Guilhou, Lola Caneja, Martín González de la Valèe, Marquis of the valley of Anzo; apart from those renters who later establish there their summer holidays. One of the last renters of this small palace was the bullfighter Manolete.
In the registry of 1922, the name of this palace figured as "Villa Cochola", as it was named by its owners.
However, after going through several owners, and after being practically abandoned and in ruins, it was bought by JOSE LUIS GARCIA and CARMEN VEGA in 1987, who, at this moment, are the owners and founders of the hotel, and those who saw in the small palace a business possibility, until today.
